Branton Kenton-Dau, CEO

Branton Kenton-Dau

Branton is a business leader and inspirational speaker with a passion for understanding complex systems. He has a first class honours degree in Religious Studies and Philosophy. In 1987 he founded Human Technology UK, a management consulting company. His clients included IBM, Nestlé and Xerox. He ran Human Technology for seven years and eventually sold it to move to New Zealand where he developed an environmental rating system for companies based upon system principles. The company is now operational in the UK. In 2001 he formed MetaWealth Limited in order to explore the science of complex systems in the financial markets. He is a director of Vortex Technology Services Limited and MarketsDNA Limited - two disruptive technologies developed from MetaWealth research. Blog

Branton has been a key speaker at venues as diverse as the Institute for the Future, New Zealand Business for Social Responsibility, International Society of Ecological Economics and IBM UK.

Raf Manji, Director



Raf Manji

Raf spent 11 years in the financial markets working for Bankers Trust, Lehman Bros and Nat West GFM, as a senior proprietary trader in the global currency and interest rate markets. At the beginning of 2000, he left the city to research wider issues in the global economy. He spent 18 months as marketing and development manager for Trucost Plc, an environmental rating company, which has developed a unique approach to measuring an organisation's environmental performance. The Trucost Rating was launched in August 2002 in the UK. In early 2002, Raf moved to Christchurch to continue his work.

He is director of the Sustento Institute, which specialises in developing policies designed around whole systems thinking. He has a BA in Economics and Social Studies from the University of Manchester and a Graduate Diploma of Arts from the University of Canterbury. Blog.


Richard Waid, IT

Richard holds a degree in computer science from the University of Canterbury, and has experience in the development of distributed Internet based systems and multi vendor network integration including extensive experience in Unix and Linux networks. Richard has been developing Zope and Python based solutions for the last three years. In addition Richard was recently the technical editor for 'Zope: Web Application Development and Content Management', published in Dec 2001 by New Riders. Richard is a founding director of both IOPEN Technologies Ltd. (IOPEN.net), a company specialising in open systems based software development and network integration, and Effusion Group Ltd. an open technologies services broker.


Martin Burley, Research


Martin Burley

Martin passed his Masters in Applied Philosophy (University of Hull) with distinction. Research in the field of organisational and management ethics formed part of his assessment for that course. He has a background in science, and obtained his BSc in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Warwick.
